THREE WAYS YOU CAN HELP RAISE MONEY FOR NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT:

    1. PICKETS FOR THE PLAYGROUND!
CLICK HERE TO PRINT A PICKET FORM TO SEND IN THE MAIL.
Make your mark on the park with an engraved fence picket. Have your name, family name, kid’s names, business or organization permanently remembered at Greentree Park! Fence pickets make great gifts and memorials. The new picket fence will not only be used as a barrier around the new play area to keep little ones within reach, but also as an engraved donor wall.

    2. MAKE A DONATION!
CLICK HERE FOR A DONATION FORM.
Our community is building a playground…One dollar at a time! If this project resonates with you, please consider joining us. If each of the over 4,500 households in Willistown Township donates $10, we will have the funding we need. Any amount that you can donate will help!

    3. BUY A COLORING BOOK!
CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE A COLORING BOOK ON ETSY.COM.
Visit Big Smile Toys, Kohlermans Pharmacy, Malvern Pizza, or Dany's Diner (former Paoli Diner) to purchase one locally. We have 200 copies at $5 each, which could earn $1,000 for the park.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 2010 the Moms Club of Malvern worked on a proposal to add new and improved playground equipment to Greentree Park on 21 Grubb Road in Willistown township, Malvern, PA. Greentree is home to the Thrilling Third Thursday summer family events and is located in the hub of the township, less than 1 mile from Rt. 30, between the towns of Malvern and Paoli. It's a wonderful park that has lots of potential to better serve the surrounding community.

Greentree Park is under-utilized and has the potential to provide a much better play area for a wider age range (age 2-12) of children within our community. There is no other playground within the township that provides the safety, equipment, amenities and location to serve this population as well as Greentree Park. The park is fenced in, has large green open areas for free play and sports, has bathroom facilities, and is within walking distance for many families. As you know, childhood obesity is rising and it is a national health crisis of epidemic proportions. One-third of all children in the U.S. are overweight. We believe that new equipment will attract and encourage children of all ages to play and exercise.

The proposal submitted in 2010 by the Moms Club, in partnership with Parks & Rec, was very well received by the community and the Board of supervisors. Close to 500 signatures were collected on a petition. Everyone acknowledged that the park was lacking sufficient and exciting playground equipment for a broad age range of kids and that the proposal was a fair and reasonably priced way to fix these deficiencies. Times are tough and the economy is not in great shape. The township was not able to find the funds for new equipment for the park this year. For some of us, this was not a response we could live with. We see the bones of an amazing park in our own backyards and decided to roll up our sleeves and make it happen. Thus "FRIENDS OF GREENTREE PARK" was born. This is where you come in.

Our newly formed community group, Friends of Greentree Park, plans to raise money to help fund the new equipment and make this project a reality. The Moms Club of Malvern raised a couple hundred dollars for the park at Malvern’s Victorian Christmas. But Friends of Greentree Park needs to go bigger than that. We need over $40,000. We need your help.

If you are interested in joining our efforts to create a better park for the kids in our community, you can "like" us on Facebook under “Friends of Greentree Park" or you can email friendsofgreentreepark@gmail.com. If you are interested in donating funds for the park, sponsoring a piece of equipment, or donating materials, please contact us and/or make a check payable to Friends of Greentree Park. We have a fund raising account open at the local Citadel on King St/Rt 30 in Paoli. Checks can be deposited directly at the bank or sent to our address below.

We will give residents updates through our Facebook page and the Willistown Towne Crier.

Thank you for your interest, support, and excitement about this project.
